What to Wear to a Boudoir Photoshoot
One of the questions we get asked most often is: "What should I wear?" And honestly, it's one of the most exciting parts of planning your session — but it can also feel overwhelming if you're not sure where to start.
Keep it simple
The most flattering boudoir outfits are often the simplest. You don't need to invest in expensive lingerie sets. A classic black or nude bra and underwear set, a favourite oversized shirt, or even a silky robe can create stunning results. It's about how you feel in it, not the price tag.
Think in textures
Lace, silk, velvet, and sheer fabrics all photograph beautifully. Mix textures across your looks for variety. A delicate lace bodysuit for one set, a satin chemise for another — these contrasts keep the gallery feeling dynamic.
Bring more than you think you need
We always recommend bringing 3–4 options even if your package only includes 2 looks. That way, on the day, you have flexibility. Sometimes something you were unsure about becomes your favourite shot.
Your comfort matters most
Wear your chosen outfits around the house first. If something pinches, itches, or makes you self-conscious, leave it at home. Confidence comes from comfort — and that translates directly into your images.
Don't forget the details
A pair of heels can elongate the legs beautifully. Jewellery you love adds personality. A favourite cardigan can create an effortlessly intimate look. Think about the whole picture, not just the main outfit.
Not sure what suits your body or the style you're going for? That's what our pre-shoot consultation is for. We'll talk through everything and make sure you feel prepared and excited — not anxious.
